Dermal Fillers and Injectables
in Charleston County, SC

Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery provides dermal fillers and injectables. Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery has offices in Charleston and Summerville, South Carolina. We offer procedures for patients who live in the Nexton, Mt Pleasant, Daniel Island, West Ashley and the surrounding South Carolina communities.

What Are Dermal Fillers and Injectables?

Dermal fillers and injectables are minimally invasive procedures for rejuvenating and smoothing out your skin. Depending on the filler being used, the benefits of these treatments often last as long as one year. Your physician may recommend a particular procedure as a standalone treatment or in combination with plastic surgery. Dermal fillers and injectables can also produce temporary results similar to those of surgery. Since the procedure is minimally invasive, there is no recovery time to interrupt your everyday routine. The healing process is fast, and most patients can resume their regular activities very soon following treatment.

What is the Cost of Dermal Fillers and Injectables?

The total cost of your dermal fillers and injectables treatment will vary based upon how much filler is required. During your consultation we will develop a personalized treatment plan, and you will be informed of your treatment costs and methods of payment. We are happy to accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards. Financing is also available so that our dermal fillers and injectables treatments are affordable to all of our patients.

Dermal Fillers and Injectables Benefits

Injectable filler treatments usually take less than one hour and require no downtime. Some patients will require several treatments, but you will nonetheless notice some results after a single treatment. The benefits of injectable fillers include:

  • Do not require pre-testing
  • Treatment benefits last and are noticeable right away
  • Patients can usually resume their normal activities immediately

If you exhibit any of these skin damage signs, injectable fillers might be a good option for you:

  • Wrinkles on any part of your face
  • Visible smile or frown lines
  • Deep creasing extending from the corners of your mouth to your nose
  • Thin, sagging lips
  • Vertical lines above the upper lip, usually as a result of smoking
  • Acne scars

What is the Procedure for Dermal Fillers and Injectables?

The filler will be injected into the parts of your face where wrinkles and fine lines are apparent. Fine lines require the filler to be delivered to the outermost skin layers, whereas deeper wrinkles and lines require delivery to the innermost layers. A very thin needle is used to inject the fillers, and it’s not uncommon to feel a stinging sensation whenever it is inserted. However, most people find that the discomfort is not significant enough to warrant the use of an anesthetic. You will not be required to perform any preparations before your treatment. All you need to do is schedule about one hour out of your day, and the treatments are quick, simple, and virtually painless. In rare cases, some patients may experience bruising, swelling, or tenderness at or near the injection sites. You won’t have to rest following your treatment. You can go about your day as usual.
