Meet Our Staff
Vicky Tolbert, MBA Office Manager
Vicky is a true Charleston native. She graduated from the College of Charleston and also has her MBA with concentration in Health Care Management. She has over 20 years’ experience working in healthcare. She previously worked with Dr. Schimpf and Dr. Blum at the Medical University of South Carolina before entering into private practice. In her free time, Vicky is busy with her twin girls that love to play at the beach, pool, and park.
Jessica Sulce, R.N.
Originally from New Jersey, Jessica moved to Charleston in the fall of 2015 and started with our practice shortly thereafter. After attending Coastal Carolina University, she started working as a Licensed Practical Nurse at The Plastic Surgery Institute of Washington. While working full time, Jessica went back to school to further her education. After attaining her Registered Nurse Degree, she then relocated back to South Carolina. With over eight years of Plastic Surgery experience, she has an extensive knowledge base in Breast Reconstruction as well as Aesthetic Surgery. Jessica is skilled in many areas from circulating in the operating room to treating patients with UltraShape, VelaShape, Protégé Elite RF and SkinPen Microneedling. She enjoys live music, downtown Charleston, traveling abroad with her husband and spending time with friends and family.
Meghan Smith, Certified Scrub Tech
Meghan is our Surgical Tech who joined the Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery team in the winter of 2015. She works alongside the physicians assisting in all surgeries and procedures. It is her goal to provide superlative care to patients before, during, and after their treatment. She takes pleasure in helping individuals feel comfortable and satisfied throughout their experience. Meghan is Board Certified upon passing the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting exam. When not working she is a true southerner who enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family.
Christine Lafond, Patient Care Coordinator
Christine moved to the Lowcountry in 1977 from Maryland. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Trident Technical College’s first Dental Hygiene class in 1992. She worked private practice for a few years, married Dr. Jeff Lafond, and taught at TTC as a registered Dental Hygiene clinical instructor until retiring to raise her three children Abbie, Hannah and Sonny.
Alysha Jackson, Patient Care Coordinator
Alysha is one of the friendly faces you will see upon entering our office. She is a Charleston native and joined our team in March of 2017. She graduated from Charleston Southern University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree. She is an aspiring PA and hopes to be a part of CSU’s graduate class of 2021. Alysha is newly married and anxiously awaiting her husband’s return from overseas. She enjoys going on mission trips and recently went to the Philippines. She is half Filipino and thoroughly enjoys making and eating authentic Filipino food. Although she says it never tastes quite like her grandparent’s dishes. Alysha is thrilled to be a part of our team and looks forward to meeting you!
Rebecca Willey, Patient Care Coordinator
Rebecca Willey is a Patient Care Coordinator for Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery. She joined our team in March of 2017. Rebecca is responsible for patient scheduling as well as assisting with the day to day operations of the practice.
Rebecca is lifelong resident of the Charleston area. Having been born and raised in the Lowcountry, her native roots add a dash of southern hospitality to the patient care process. As a loving wife and mother of two teenage children, Rebecca naturally exudes an unwavering commitment to the well being of the people around her. Coupled with a practice that puts the foremost emphasis on patient safety and satisfaction will leave you with a feeling of being treated as a member of our own family.

Shelbie Yarborough, Patient Care Coordinator
Shelbie was born and raised in Blythewood,SC. She moved to Charleston in 2013 to attend Trident Technical College. Where she graduated in 2016 with her Associate degree in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry Certificates from the Culinary Institute Of Charleston. After several years of the food and beverage industry she decided to try a new field of interest in the health care field. Shelbie joined the team at Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery in the summer of 2017. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoys reading books, getting her nails done and spoiling her cats Luna and Bella.
Viki Smigelski, Medical Assistant
Viki started her career in the medical field in Detroit, Michigan as a Certified EMT. She has worked in hospitals, Urgent Care Centers, and GI before joining the Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery team in 2017.
Viki wears many “hats” at Sweetgrass and is skilled in many areas such as CoolSculpting, VelaShape, Ketamine Infusions, and preparing patients for surgery. She is committed to ensuring our patients are comfortable and happy throughout their surgical experience.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, listening to music, and being outdoors.
Melanie Griffith, R.N.
Melanie grew up in the upstate. She has been employed as a full time nurse for 24+ years and has lived in five other states doing travel nursing. Melanie is a graduate of the BSN program at Clemson University. She is a former Carolina Panthers Cheerleader and is certified in numerous group fitness exercise programs (Johnny G Spinning, Les Mills Body Pump and Body Flow, Zumba ). She actively teaches classes at O2 Fitness and Pivotal Fitness. She has two daughters, 15 and 8 and is currently pursuing her FNP- MSN through Carson Newman University.
Rentia was born and raised in South Africa where most of her family still resides. She graduated from the University of Pretoria with a Bachelors in Psychology. Rentia enjoys traveling overseas with her teenage daughter, trying new restaurants downtown and hitting golf balls at the driving range. Rentia’s background is in luxury spa management and aesthetics has always been an interest of hers. Rentia meets with patients following their consultation with one of our 3 surgeons to give price quotes, discuss financial options, answer questions and schedule surgeries. As Surgical Coordinator, she serves as a personal contact for patients through their surgical process. Her primary focus is to educate patients, assist them through their surgical journey and put patients at ease.
Meet Tasha, one of our Patient Care Coordinators. She has over 10 years of experience in the medical field and understands the true value in making sure our patients feel like family.
When she is not in the office, you can find her cheering on her daughters’ High School Volleyball team or playing with her 3 dogs(charlie,Gunner,Chester)and pig (Ms.Maple).In her spare time, she loves to travel.
Tasha is excited to further her knowledge in the medical field and thrilled that she can do it here at Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery.
Stacey Corbett, LPN
Stacey grew up in the Columbia area and moved to Charleston in 2011 with family. She is a graduate of Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College with 9 years experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Prior to joining our team here at Sweetgrass, she worked as a long-term care nurse as well as a dermatology nurse for the outpatient care at MUSC for 4 years.
Stacey is currently taking classes to earn her RN degree with an end goal to become a Nurse Practitioner. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband, 3 children and 2 dogs. She loves to be outdoors, have fun with friends, try new restaurants, and shop.
Marie Bailey, Patient Care Coordinator
Marie is one of our Patient Care Coordinators for Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery. She joined our team in May of 2019.
Originally from San Jose, California Marie planted roots here in Charleston in 1997 where she raised her two children.
Marie has over 6 years experience in the medical field and over 10 years experience in health and wellness.
Marie is excited to be a part of the Sweetgrass team and looks forward to meeting you!
Asta, Licensed Aesthetician
Asta has always had a passion for skin care and was the friend people turned to for advise regarding their beauty routine. Originally from Lithuania, she also has over a decade of experience working as a registered nurse and for the past five years she has been practicing as a licensed esthetician at some of Charleston’s most luxurious spas. She is so excited to join the practice at Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery and combine her love of skin care and procedures to help her patients feel their absolute best.
Asta has a daughter who is in her last year of medical school at Emory and cannot wait for her to graduate and hopefully move back home. During her free time, she tries to enjoy as much of the beautiful weather in Charleston as she can. She loves spending time on the beach or walking her furry best friend, Snoopy.
Lindsay, Licensed Aesthetician
Lindsay recently joined us after moving from Atlanta, Georgia but is originally from Northwest Ohio. She has been a licensed Aesthetician since 2009. From there she worked for spas and a luxury cosmetic line, until she found her true passion in Medical Aesthetics, working on both the face and body. She loves all aspects of the Aesthetics industry, yet prefers the ability to use advanced technology to achieve the best results on her patients. She also values nutrition and fitness, and encourages her patients to radiate the best version of themselves. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and two terriers.
Patti Winders, Cosmetic Surgery Coordinator
Patti Travasos Winders originally from South Florida, and moved to Charleston after graduating college in 1997. Patti brings with her over 22 years of marketing and promotions experience in the live entertainment, media, food and beverage, retail and hospitality industries.
Prior to joining Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery, Patti acted as a Promotions and Marketing Director, a Senior Account Executive, and Director of Marketing and Non-Traditional Revenues. Through these experiences, she learned of her enjoyment and passion for being a constant for people, getting to know them and helping them on their journey to their personal happiness.
Married in 2018, Patti and her husband enjoy spending their free time outside as much as possible, preferably the beach, or cheering for their sports teams (Miami Hurricanes, Miami Dolphins, UNC Tarheels and Carolina Panthers) and helping shark conservation and cleaning our oceans.
