Aquagold®
in Charleston County, SC

Many patients are aware of the cosmetic benefits of microneedling treatments. With Aquagold®, you get a highly specialized microneedling treatment that simultaneously injects skincare formulas for magnified results. Sweetgrass Plastic Surgery has offices in Charleston and Summerville, South Carolina. We offer procedures for patients who live in the Nexton, Mt Pleasant, Daniel Island, West Ashley and the surrounding South Carolina communities.

What is Aquagold®?

Aquagold® is a specialized microneedling treatment that combines the traditional microneedling treatment with the injection of cosmetic products. The benefits of microneedling have been popular for many years. Standard microneedling replenishes collagen in the skin to restore skin texture, volume and appearance. Aquagold® offers a premium microneedling treatment with an extra component.

The Aquagold® device can also be used to inject dermal fillers, PRP and related treatments. When these treatments are administered via the Aquagold® device, they are evenly distributed throughout the treatment area, creating a more comfortable treatment that is accompanied by a reduction in side effects and a shorter recovery period. The Aquagold® treatment may be suitable for any patient who is considering combining microneedling with dermal fillers or PRP treatments.

How Much Does Aquagold® Cost?

The total cost of your Aquagold® procedure will vary based upon your treatment goals and the type of treatment required. During your consultation we will develop a personalized treatment plan, and you will be informed of your treatment costs and payment options. We are happy to accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards. Financing is also available so that our Aquagold® treatments are affordable to all of our patients.

What is the Aquagold® Like?

The Aquagold® treatment is performed much like any standard microneedling procedure. First, the skin will be numbed using a topical cooling gel. The Aquagold® device features needles smaller than a human hair, so treatment is essentially painless, but this precaution helps reduce any discomfort that may occur. Then, your desired cosmetic product will be placed in the Aquagold® injector. This may be a platelet-rich plasma solution, or a popular dermal filler product. Finally, the Aquagold® device will be used to make injections throughout the treatment area. Once all preparations are made, the treatment will only take a few minutes to complete.

What is the Aquagold® Recovery Like?

While recovering from an Aquagold® treatment, you may experience redness, swelling and light scabbing in the treatment area. These symptoms will improve greatly within the first week. During this time, you may need to adjust your cosmetic routine slightly in order to facilitate the proper healing of the skin. However, many patients find that they are perfectly able to resume all usual activities within a day of their Aquagold® treatment.

What Aquagold® Results Can I Expect?

The results from Aquagold® will develop gradually in the weeks following treatment. It can take a few months for the full results to become visible, as it takes time for the body to produce new collagen and begin implementing it into the skin. However, you may notice results quite soon if you choose to include PRP or dermal filler products with your Aquagold® treatment. Your results will vary depending on the cosmetic product selected, but we will be able to tell you more about your expected results when discussing your specific treatment.
